This Year Marks Birth of Cianaa

The incorporation of the company is derived by the founder passion for information security and adherence to standards. In 2014, Cianaa Technologies emerged with a bold vision: to simplify the complexities of information security for organizations navigating the ever-evolving digital landscape. From its inception, the company was built on six foundational principles— Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, Non-Repudiation, Authentication, and Assurance—collectively forming the acronym “ CIANAA”.

Cianaa Became partner with PECB for the trainings and contributing to Object Management Group research on Cloud Computing.

Adherence to 17021-1 and achieving QSA Status

By 2015, the company had formalized its commitment to quality and impartiality through the adoption of ISO/IEC 17021-1 standards. The ISO 17021-1 2015 Manual laid out the organization’s structure, certification services, and governance mechanisms, including the formation of key committees such as the Management Committee and the Impartiality Committee. It also laid foundation for PCI DSS and company officially became QSA in New Zealand, Australia, CEMEA and Asia pacific region.

First Client Olympic Software

Olympic software was our first client in 2015 and 2016 achieving PCI DSS compliance. Further, Cianaa got involved with Starship Foundation to get them through PCI DSS compliance. In 2016, Spark New Zealand Ltd became the first company to achieve ISO 27001:2013 certification in New Zealand and PCI DSS compliance for Level 1 Merchant through Cianaa.

The Growth

One of the most impactful growth levers has been the company’s emphasis on ISO certification. With 69% of SMEs reporting improved performance due to ISO standards, Cianaa’s certification services became a cornerstone of its value proposition

Privacy Certification for ISO 27701:2019

Qrious Ltd marked a significant milestone in its commitment to data privacy and information security by achieving certification for ISO/IEC 27701:2019, the international standard for privacy information management through Cianaa.

Became Supplier for New Zealand Government Market Place

in its pursuit of excellence in cybersecurity and compliance, Cianaa officially became a registered supplier for the New Zealand Government. This milestone enabled Cianaa to receive purchase orders and payments directly from government agencies, marking a significant step in its public sector engagement. As a Marketplace Approved Supplier, Cianaa also committed to objective assessment, ensuring transparency and accountability in its services. The company’s alignment with government security expectations—further solidified its reputation as a trusted partner in delivering certification and accreditation services across multiple agencies.
